Some of you already know...

My daughter Taylor was struck by an SUV while crossing the street by Amsouth on the UA Campus.
She went to the free concerts they had the night before Homecoming in Oct. with a group of friends.
It knocked her about 30 to 40 feet...it broke her pelvis in 3 places, her right leg, she also had a bruised lung and a superficial wound on her liver. She was treated at DCH, then sent to Childrens, we had 2 surgeries there and 1 at UAB(the pelvic surgery was done at UAB). Anyway, She came home with external fixation bars from her pelvis and in a wheelchair, she was going to have to keep those in for 12 weeks, but she only had to wear them Thank GOD for 6, but she did lose the range of motion in her right knee from not
being mobile...scar tissue built up from where they placed the metal rod in her right leg.....it was like 15 degrees and now it back to full range of motion......

she wore the bars till the week before Christmas, then was on crutches with no weight baring till the second week of Jan. and was off crutches by the 1st week of Feb.. she is still going to therapy 3 times a week but is about 6 weeks ahead of schedule... and just looking at her you would never know what she's been through she has really excelled....to this point we have been released by all the doctors except for the pelvic surgeon...

IT IS SO SCARY TO BE THE MOM OF A TEENAGE GIRL..... But I am so thankful that her injuries weren't more severe .....

Yeah everybody says that she favors me.... I don't know how people can see me in someone who is as skinny as a rail...and how she can  favor me and my chubby self...

It's hard to be a mom of a teenage girl,but, being a dad is no better I think Anthony pretty much has a nevrous breakdown just about every time she goes on a date....

I am so glad that Ashley is with you now, my heart aches for you and has for so long that you cant
have both girls with you... Vanessa will one day have a deep resentment for Richard for keeping her away from you for so long...

Sheana I hope she does.  No child should be taken from their mom unless she's not fit and that wasn't the case at all.  Check your email and that will explain everything. 
Hey stop saying that about the chubby thing.  I imagine not many of us look the same as we did 20 years ago.  I am in the chubby club myself.

Sheana, I am so so sorry to hear about your daughter. My mothers heart goes out to you and your family. I will be praying for you all. I am so glad to hear that she is doing so well.

Brenda,......I just dont know what to say other than I am so sorry to hear about you having your girls kidnapped WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!  Bless you heart.

I guess I have been so caught up in my own life since graduation that when I read about hard difficult times that so many have had..........IT BREAKS MY HEART!!! Michelle

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers

You know that's exactly what has gotten us this far...
She has done so great because she is used to being busy..
we started home schooling her in Sept and she was working pretty much full time hours at Gutherie's on
Skyland Blvd...and of course she is always going somewhere...

She went from being so busy she didn't know what to do, to not being able to go anywhere, completely homebound... THANK GOD that she is so tough and head strong, she was not going to let it keep her down for long...

I appreciate the kind words.  I have been blessed in alot of ways.  God has seen to that.  And He will see to it that I will be blessed again.  It's just a matter of time that Vanessa will understand what has happened just like Ashley did.  I've had to really turn over some new leafs cause as a Christian I have forgiven but as a human being I can't forget.
