Hello all,
Chris Schulz here, class of 87. I am looking forward to the 20yr reunion. My high school memories are so vivid that it seems like it was just yesterday but when I look at these posts regarding the 20 yr reunion I realize that time has passed very quickly, not to mention the fact that the visual verification dialog box during registration into this site was challenging and left me feeling a little old. The good news is that I still remember all the fun times of high school and look forward to refreshing those memories at the 20yr. Of course I am preparing my list of embellishments and would appreciate if people in the know look away at the appropriate time Smiley. In all seriousness, I am looking forward to it and I applaud the reunion committee's effort in putting the event together. If I can be of help please contact me.

Oh yeah, one more thing, I apologize in advanced to Mrs Woods, my 12th grade English teacher for my poor grammar and composition. It's not your fault!

Regards,
Chris Schulz

Hey Chris,
Brenda Burroughs here.  Don't know if you remember me.  I think we had some classes together senior year.  It's been so long since then that there are alot of people I don't remember.  lol  Yep that's a sign of getting old.
Hope all is well with you.  And I hope the reunion will be great and everything will go well.  I look forward to seeing everybody there.  Take care.

I just registered my contact info and thought I would take a look at the TCHS forum.  I was surprised to see your message and glad to see you are coming to the reunion.  See you then.

Hey Chris, Allison (Houston) Olson here (TCHS '87).  How is sunny California?  Heard you ran into my little brother out there.  He said he really wished he'd had more time to chat with you.  He and his crew now live in Seal Beach.  I think that's where they be for the log haul.  Look forward to seeing you and everyone else at the reunion.  And many kudos to the reunion committee for the great job they are doing and what they are attemting to do!

Hey Allison,
Yeah Chuck and I got together for lunch a few years back. It was great catching up. He was coordinating the Bama alum football viewing club. I did see him a couple of times at the games but he did seem pretty busy with the family. I also lived in Seal Beach during my college years. It's a great place to live. You should plan a trip out to visit him when you get a chance.

I have since moved up to Northern California, or as the locals say NorCal. I live 30 miles out of Sacramento on the way to Lake Tahoe. It was time for a change from the "OC". Lot's of great outdoor activities and a lot less traffic.

Anyway tell Chuck I said hi and I'll see ya at the 20yr

Hello Chris -

Just registered and saw your post.  This is Kim (Bannerman) Smith.  I married my wonderful husband almost two years ago - we live in Selma, AL (and I'll not comment on that part) and I have a 6 year old step-daughter.

Life is good...really good.  Hope to make it to part of the reunion this year.  Would love to see everyone.

Hey Kim,

Good to hear from you. Sounds like things are going great for you. It seems that life gets more and more complex as we grow older so it's tough to keep everything in check. Who would have known?

The first thing I thought when I saw your post was “wow, we go way back". I still remember bits and pieces of Westwood Elementary. You, me, Molly Kaufman, Rusty and Lance Smelley hangin in Mrs. Kidd's advanced math class, those were the days.

Anyway, we can catch up at the reunion. I ran into a few snags but looks like I am still able to make it so those members of the committee that called me can rest easy. I will fill out my paperwork and send it in.

Which reminds me...new post

Take it easy, congrats on keeping everything manageable and we'll see ya at the reunion

Well, well, well ....Chris_S is who I suspected.

I was getting married on the weekend of our 10th Reunion was the reason for my absences then. I am now trying to talk this same woman into coming with me to the 20th reunion. We are currently living in Michigan (what a surprise!) so we have to decide the fly or drive thing and it is hot in Alabama.

I remember my practically neighbor friend Brenda Burroughs who went to the same elementary and junior high school together.

I'd love to hear from both Chris and Brenda. My email address is listed in this maze somewhere under my "Original" username.

I'm so glad I found this site. I'll add it to my favorites NOW!

Alright, it is time to start sweet talking the wife into going to the reunion.

Bret

Hi Chris,
20 yrs really bothered me when my 17 yr. old told me how Van Halen was Classic Rock.
I remember seeing you at the 10 but didn't get to say hi.  Sounds like your doing well in CA.
I've been in Nothern Illinois fot the past 14 years.  2 boys, Nick (17) and Matthew (4).
Matthew was a little suprise.  Nick is entering his Sr. year next year.  He's been a good kid.  Plays varstiy football and even went to the State Playoffs this year but lost.  It was a great experience though.  He just took his ACT and is looking at being an engineer.  Matthew will start Kindergarten when Nick leaves the nest.  Anyway, I always go by westwood when I go home and think of all of us back then.   Nice to see your post here.  I can't come to the reunion this year.  We are off to Wisconsin with the boys for some skiing and camping.  I hope the next reunion is planned in the Fall.
Anyway, Have fun and take care.

Hi Tina,
Classic rock- that's that 60's and 70's stuff right? oh and 80's....and 90's. Oh well, what are you going to do. I just sit back, suck down some Van Halen and tell all the young kids about how I used to pay $1/gal for gasoline - those were the days
I have two children, a two year old girl and a five year old boy. Got started late. They keep me very busy when I'm home.
It's great to hear that your son is going to study engineering. I have my MS in Mechanical Engineering. I think engineering is a great curriculum. It gives solid core knowledge that is beneficial even if your career path takes you out of engineering.  Unfortunately these days I think it is underappreciated. People seem to believe that these great new products just grow out of the ground (in China) for free. I have traveled to China a couple of times for work and nothing could be further from the truth. But as I said I think it's a good path to take. If he needs one of my old pocket protectors just give me a shout out. I'm still using the calculator so he'll have to get his own Smiley. The other good news is that you won’t have to worry about him bringing a girl home; he won’t see one for the next four (and possibly five) years.  Smiley
That's too bad that you won't make the 20yr. I know that I was having difficulty trying to figure out who was who at the 10, I'm sure it's going to be even more difficult at the 20. I pulled out my 1987 Tuscohi annual, so I'm studying up.
I also go to Westwood and cruise around when I go back. I was there two years ago. It didn't seem like things had changed much.
